The Dragon Arrows
Duskfalls lies on the River Mirar that connects the Dwarven surface access city of Mirabar with the trade port Luskan. The town owes its name to a series of falls and rapids on the river that necessitated portaging of boats running the shipping lane. The porters of the town were infamous for always ensuring that the task took at least until dusk, forcing crews to spend the night at exorbitantly priced local inns.
Eventually, the cartels of Luskan grew tired of the grift and, poorly disguised as orc raiders, brought in sappers to demolish the falls and even out the river— robbing the town of its livelihood. In retaliation, the town began to smuggle dwarven goods into Neverwinter, breaking the Luskanite monopoly.
That was all generations ago, and while it’s no longer personal, smuggling remains the primary source of income to the town.
